Nokia 3210 send free sms : Tips Tricks n Secret Codes

I just got a *# Code via the net for Nokia 3210 which when entered in did
> come up saying
> “SIM CLOCK STOP ALLOWED” which is supposidly allows FREE SMS to be sent.

Free SMS Tip
1. turn our phone off.
2. turn it on and enter your pin.
3. enter *#746025625# 4. now “SIM CLOCK STOP ALLOWED” will be displayed.
now you can send sms for free. if you turn your phone off and later on you
have to reenter this code!!!

I fully understand myself what the above message means, but as of course i
was curoius of it working etc.. ??
